BIOWET PUŁAWY

is a company engaged in the manufacture of preparations for maintaining good animal health. There are production departments, research laboratories and control laboratories situated around the more than 34 ha (hectare, 84 acre) site in which some 210 people work. 'Biowet Puławy' has established its status on the pharmaceuticals market thanks to the constant modernization of its technology and the introduction of its new products onto the market.

Our firm's offer contains about 50 preparations for disease prevention and the treatment and care of farm and domestic animals.

BIOWET PUŁAWY

is the successor to the long industrial tradition of pharmaceuticals and veterinary drug production in Puławy.
Here, in 1920, a State station was established for the control of cattle plaque- a very dangerous disease at that time. The success of this enterprise, the actual eradi-cation of this dangerous disease, became the foundation for the development of this activity:
- 1920 - Establishment of the station for the control of cattle plaque
- 1935 - Establishment of the Veterinary Faculty of the State Institute for Rural Husbandry, Puławy
- 1945 - Establishment of the productive section of the State Veterinary Institute, Puławy
- 1951 - Creation of the enterprise - ´´Puławskie Zakłady Przemysłu Bioweterynaryjnego´´ or 'BIOWET' (Bio-veterinary Plant, Puławy).
- 1996 - Creation of the 'BIOWET' Production Company
- 1997 - The firm was taken over by the 'BIOWET PUŁAWY' Production Company.

Over the last 89 years, the medications produced in Puławy have played a significant part in the eradication, therapy and control of such dangerous diseases as tuberculosis, brucellosis, Newcastle disease, Varroea in honey bees.

DEVELOPMENT • COOPERATION • FOREIGN MARKET

Appropriate changes in documentation and inspection methods were performed, and a serious investment programme was carried out. These actions have lead to the creation of a new Department of Injection Preparations to be brought into operation in October 2003. It is one of the most modern plants of this kind in Poland. The clean compartments of the Department, together with an air lock entrance and a ventilation and air-conditioning system, constitute a single, overpressure functional system that makes it possible to divide the space into various categories of cleanness. Air conducted into the system is subjected to a three-stage filtration. The building is equipped not only with typical facilities but also those specific to the pharmaceutical industry. Process containers are equipped with the CIP (clean-in-place) system and the SIP (sterilisation-in-place) system. The entire technical and technological facilities of the Department include twelve different installations, most of which have been completed hygienically. Such a plant, with state-of-the-art equipment for the production of injection preparations, guarantees the highest quality of medicines manufactured here.

New department of biological products was established in 2008. The development, production and inspection of our products are in the hands of the firm's own staff as well as several scientific and research centres. We permanently cooperate with:

- the State Veterinary Institute;
- Faculties of Veterinary Medicine;
- the Institute of Organic Industry;
- the Institute of Pomiculture and Floriculture
